The University of Wyoming Alumni Association (UWAA) is accepting nominations for the prestigious Distinguished Alumni Award and the Medallion Service Award.

Applications submitted by Saturday, Feb. 28, will be reviewed this spring, with awardees honored during UW’s Homecoming celebrations in the fall.

The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes UW graduates who have achieved excellence in their business, profession or life’s work. Nominees must demonstrate integrity, stature and ability while reflecting the significant role their UW education has played in their achievements.

The Medallion Service Award honors alumni or friends of the university who have selflessly contributed their time, talent or support to UW. Nominees for this award do not need to be UW alumni but must demonstrate exceptional commitment and integrity.

Nominations for both awards are open to the public, allowing anyone to recognize and celebrate deserving individuals. Submissions are accepted exclusively through the online nomination form. Nominees must meet specific eligibility criteria, and nominators are encouraged to review the forms thoroughly for any restrictions:

Once the nomination period closes, submissions will be forwarded to the Distinguished Alumni Selection Committee for review. The committee, composed of members serving six-year terms, meets annually in the spring to review nominations and select honorees. These selections are then affirmed by the UWAA Board of Directors during its April meeting. Following this confirmation, awardees are notified of their selection.
