A spring Volunteer Fair, sponsored by the University of Wyoming’s Service, Leadership
and Community Engagement (SLCE) office, will bring volunteer opportunities to the
Wyoming Union breezeway from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, and Thursday, Feb.
5.
The free Volunteer Fair -- open to UW students, faculty, staff and the public -- will
connect fairgoers to more than 20 nonprofits and government programs. There will be
a different selection of groups tabling each day, and participants will have the opportunity
to meet organization representatives and learn about opportunities to serve the community.
“The volunteer fair is an opportunity for students to use what they’re learning in
the classroom and put it to work in a real-world scenario,” says Shelby Kennedy, SLCE
project coordinator. “All of these organizations that are going to be tabling at the
volunteer fair also serve folks who are part of the Laramie community. So, it’s an
opportunity to just really give back to the people who are part of our community as
well.”
