Small-business owners, entrepreneurs, startups, government contractors and cybersecurity assistance companies will have the opportunity to learn more about Project Spectrum, an online cybersecurity education and readiness platform, Thursday, Feb. 19.

A Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network webinar, titled “Cybersecurity Innovation and Support -- Project Spectrum,” is scheduled from noon-1 p.m. To register, go here. Registration is free. The event is hosted by the Nebraska Business Development Center.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The webinar will showcase Project Spectrum’s impact and provide a vision for the future. Project Spectrum is a U.S. Department of War Office of Small Business Programs initiative that provides a free, online cybersecurity education and readiness platform aimed primarily at small- and mid-sized businesses in the Defense Industrial Base.

Attendees will learn what the cybersecurity expectations are for Department of War contractors; use training, tools and practical resources to help build “cyber hygiene” and prepare for compliance expectations; use self-assessments and risk assessments so businesses can see where they stand and what gaps to fix; and prepare for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification-related requirements.
