The University of Wyoming College of Business earned national recognition this week
in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report “Best Online Programs” rankings.
UW placed No. 32 in “Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs,” and its online
Master of Business Administration is listed among the nation’s “Best Online MBA Programs”
at No. 162 in a field of 377 ranked programs.
U.S. News released its 2026 “Best Online Programs” Jan. 27 after evaluating nearly
1,850 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at regionally accredited institutions.
The rankings assess academic quality for distance learners, prioritizing strong instruction,
support services and student engagement.
“These rankings highlight the progress our team has made in improving online learning,”
says Scott Beaulier, the H.A. “Dave” True Family Dean of the UW College of Business.
“We’ve been very intentional about boosting instructional quality in online spaces
as part of our strategic plan, and it’s encouraging to see that commitment reflected
nationally.”
The No. 32 ranking for UW’s online bachelor’s degree in business places the program
in the top tier of more than 250 programs nationally and reflects continued growth
in flexible pathways for students.
The online MBA’s placement among 377 ranked programs shows UW’s steady progress in
online graduate business education and its commitment to serving Wyoming’s workforce
needs by helping working professionals gain new skills and advance their careers without
having to relocate.
U.S. News applies discipline‑specific methodologies across its online program rankings.
Bachelor’s programs are evaluated on engagement, services and technology, faculty
credentials and training, and peer assessment, with a 2026 update that also considers
first‑destination outcomes.
Online MBA programs are assessed using similar factors, with the addition of student
excellence and an emphasis on serving midcareer professionals.
