Tre Belle Voci.

A recital, “Tre Belle Voci,” presented by the University of Wyoming Department of Music, is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13.

The free, public recital will be in Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall and features UW faculty member Magdalena Wór, mezzo-soprano, and guest artists Diana Seitz, violin, and Agnieszka Zick, piano. The program traverses the lush landscapes of Spanish and French masterworks.

The performance opens with Eduard Toldrà’s “Seis Sonetos,” six intimate Catalan miniatures for violin and piano that blend early 20th century impressionism with folk melodies. Next is the fiery, rhythmic “Violin Sonata No. 1” Op. 51 by Joaquin Turina, a three-movement work blending Spanish Andalusian folk idioms with French impressionist harmonies. The trio then presents “La Inacabable,” a commissioned work by contemporary composer Emiliano Revert, before concluding with “Violons dans le soir,” a miniature chamber cantata for voice, violin and piano by French romantic composer Camille Saint-Saëns.

Winner of the Marcello Giordani Foundation International Vocal Competition, Wór has been praised by The New York Times for her “silken” voice. She has performed with the Metropolitan Opera and major orchestras nationwide.

A virtuoso of the Russian Violin School, Seitz has performed across the globe from Moscow to Carnegie Hall. She is recognized for her passionate interpretations and technical brilliance.

A Polish-born pianist, Zick is an active soloist and collaborative artist known for her sensitive artistry. A graduate of the University of Michigan, she frequently performs and gives master classes internationally.
