The Office of the Provost has selected three finalists for the inaugural dean of the
School of Computing at the University of Wyoming.
The candidates are Junhua Ding, Martin Margala and Marilyn Wolf. Each will spend a
full day on campus engaging with the community.
Wolf, currently the Elmer E. Koch Professor of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
will interview Thursday, April 16.
Ding, the founding chair and Reinburg Endowed Professor in the University of North
Texas’s Anuradha and Vikas Sinha Department of Data Science, will interview Monday,
April 20.
Margala, currently a professor and director of the School of Computing and Informatics
at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, will interview Tuesday, April 21.
These visits will include public presentations in which members of the campus community
can participate either in person or virtually.

Each presentation will be held in Room 133 of the Classroom Building and will be available
via Zoom at https://uwyo.zoom.us/my/schoolofcomputing. Following each presentation, there will be 30 minutes for questions, followed by
a public meet-and-greet session.

exceptional work in identifying three distinguished finalists for this highly significant
inaugural leadership position,” Interim Provost Anne Alexander says. “I am impressed
by the diverse backgrounds of each candidate and eagerly anticipate their campus visits
to learn more about them and their vision for the School of Computing.”
