Entrepreneurs, small business-owners and startups will have an opportunity to learn more about intellectual property and how to protect it.

IMPACT 307, the University of Wyoming’s business incubator, will host a Startup Lunch and Learn seminar, titled “From Idea to Impact: The Value of Intellectual Property and Protecting Your Innovation,” Tuesday, April 21, from noon-1 p.m. in the conference room of the Wyoming Technology Business Center. Networking will follow. The event is part of UW’s Research and Discovery Days.

The session brings together expertise from Stephanie Sellers, director of the UW Technology Transfer Office; Sean Wilkerson, community engagement office director for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; and Jonathan Naughton, founder of Resono Pressure Systems, who has successfully navigated the patenting process. Together, they will share practical insights on identifying, protecting and leveraging your intellectual property.

IMPACT 307 is hosting this event as part of its mission to connect founders with resources and programming to help them become effective, efficient and networked entrepreneurs.

The event is free, but an RSVP is required here. Lunch will be provided. Online virtual viewing of the presentations will be available for registered guests.

Free parking is available in the two-hour section in the southwest corner of the adjacent Red Lot or on the street north of the Wyoming Technology Business Center, located at 1938 E. Harney St. in Laramie.
