The University of Wyoming will host UnionFest 2026 Friday, May 8, bringing a full
day of live music, food and activities to campus. The event is free and open to students
and the Laramie community.
Organized by the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (CSIL), UnionFest will
take place at Prexy’s Pasture from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. The event will feature a variety
of activities, including yard games, inflatables, table games and food options such
as walking tacos and burgers, creating a laid-back and engaging atmosphere for attendees.
Live music will begin at 4 p.m., featuring performances by Box of Rocks, The Deslondes
and The Burroughs, who will close out the evening. The event is designed to celebrate
the end of the academic year while giving students an opportunity to relax and connect
with others.
“One of the most enjoyable parts of working on UnionFest throughout the years has
been seeing students end their year on a high note,” says Kosta Pappas, a graphic
design coordinator at CSIL. “Being able to create an experience that leaves them with
lasting memories is what makes it all worth it.”
“UnionFest is one of those events that really shows what campus life is all about,”
says Colin Barrett, a marketing intern at CSIL. “It gives students a chance to step
away from everything, be with their friends and just enjoy the moment at the end of
the year.”
“Events like UnionFest play an important role in building campus culture by offering opportunities for students to engage outside of the classroom,” organizers say. “Bringing together music, food and activities helps create lasting memories and strengthens the connection between students and the university.”
