UW and Wyoming SBDC Network to Host Two-Day SBIR/STTR Proposal Lab Workshop

Small-business owners, entrepreneurs and startups can receive expert training about Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) technical and cost proposals Thursday, May 28, and Thursday, June 11.
Jim Greenwood will lead the discussion during a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network online webinar titled “SBIR/STTR Proposal Lab - Two-Day Workshop” from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. both days. The webinar is co-hosted by the Wyoming SBIR/STTR Initiative (WSSI), Montana Technology Innovation Partnership and IMPACT 307.
The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The two-part lab is designed to help businesses develop a competitive Phase I submission. The content will be relevant to all 11 SBIR and six STTR agencies, with particular emphasis on the Department of Defense, National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Energy and NASA.
During the May 28 webinar, Greenwood will cover program fundamentals and outline a structured process for preparing a technical proposal.
During the June 11 webinar, Greenwood will cover completing the process and explore key concepts for building a sound cost proposal to ensure that project budgets are accurate and sustainable.
Greenwood, co-owner of Greenwood Consulting Group Inc., is a nationally recognized trainer and proposal reviewer for the SBIR and STTR programs. He has taught SBIR/STTR workshops in 48 states, plus Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., offering training through local and regional economic development groups, universities, federal laboratories, SBDCs and Manufacturing Extension Partnerships.
