An 18-member working group appointed to prepare University of Wyoming’s response to directives connected with the 2026 Legislature’s appropriations for the university will hold its first meeting Monday, June 1, via teleconference.

The meeting of the Budget Footnote Working Group -- expected to be primarily organizational -- is scheduled to take place from 7:30-8:30 a.m. The meeting will begin in open session; the group’s chairmen, Trustees Kermit Brown and John McKinley, reserve the right to move into closed session at any time.

Group members will participate via Zoom; members of the public can observe the public session at https://wyolinks.uwyo.edu/2026/TrusteesBFWG-Jun0126/.

It is the intention of the chairmen that the working group will meet the first and third Mondays of the month at 7:30 a.m. until further notice.

The group intends to present initial findings and recommendations at the July UW Board of Trustees meeting. A draft operational plan is expected to be presented at the September board meeting and a final plan in November.
