The University of Wyoming College of Education recently honored faculty and staff
members, along with students, at the final college meeting of the academic year.
The college’s faculty, staff and student award winners are:
-- Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching: Barbara Hickman, associate professor of
educational leadership.
-- Faculty Award for Outstanding Research and Scholarship: Miriam Sanders, assistant
professor of secondary mathematics education.
-- Faculty/Staff Award for Service to the Educational Profession: Alison Mercier,
assistant professor of elementary science education.
-- Award for Outstanding Advising: Jessie Marcolini, Science and Mathematics Teaching
Center director; and Julianna Worden, Student Success Center academic advising professional.
-- Staff Award for Outstanding Service to the College: Charlie Yarchin, Student Success
Center office associate.
-- Award for Outstanding Contributions Toward Improving the Climate of the College:
Levi Moore, Student Success Center academic advising manager.
-- Outstanding Graduate Student Award for Significant Accomplishments: Melena Osborne,
Ed.D. in mathematics education.
-- Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award for Significant Accomplishments: Darwin
St. Clair III, of Fort Washakie, B.A. in secondary mathematics education.
-- John P. “Jack” Ellbogen Dean’s Fund Undergraduate Student Leadership Award: Shelby
Williams, of Silt, Colo., B.A. in secondary mathemathics education; Joseph Kennah,
of Hulett, B.S. in agricultural education with a concentration in animal and veterinary
science; and Laynee Walker, of Kemmerer, B.A. in elementary education.
-- Patricia McClurg Education Faculty Fellowship: Jihyun Lee, associate professor
