A city of Laramie street improvement project will result in the closure of 15th Street
between Grand Avenue and Ivinson Avenue starting Wednesday, June 3, and lasting until
the end of July.
During this period, traffic will be detoured via 22nd Street.
“Given the current closure of Ivinson Avenue, including the intersection at Ninth
Street, we anticipate this phase of construction will have a significant impact on
traffic circulation in the surrounding area,” says senior city engineer William Winkler.
“City staff is actively coordinating access and traffic considerations with Paul Kunkle,
director of University of Wyoming Transportation Services, as well as the UW Housing
Office, to minimize disruption to campus operations and residential access as much
as possible.”
The Ivinson Avenue closure, between Eighth Street and 15th Street, began May 18 and is expected to last through Thursday, Oct. 15.
