Author and photographer Lindsay Linton Buk will visit the University of Wyoming’s Art Museum to discuss her book, “Women Shaping the West: Stories from Wyoming,” Thursday, July 16.

The event, free and open to the public, begins at 5:30 p.m. and is part of the Art Museum’s ongoing Third Thursdays series, which brings the community together each month for art, conversation and creative experiences.

During the engaging conversation, Buk will speak to the inspiration behind her book -- which pairs striking portraits with personal stories that celebrate the identity, resilience and purpose of more than 25 remarkable Wyoming women -- and the journey of bringing the project from concept to publication. Topics include: her approach to storytelling; the often-unseen aspects of authorship and artistic production; and her experience bringing the book to life.

The evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by the conversation with Buk at 6 p.m. A question-and-answer session will follow at 6:45 p.m. and conclude with a book signing at 7 p.m.

Copies of “Women Shaping the West: Stories from Wyoming” will be available for purchase.
