Maj. Gen. Robert A. Borcherding
University of Wyoming President Shane Reeves invites students, faculty, staff and
the Laramie community to hear from Maj. Gen. Robert A. Borcherding, deputy judge advocate
general of the U.S. Army, at the UW College of Law Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Borcherding will deliver remarks on the practice of military law and its role in national
security, followed by a question-and-answer session, from 12:30-1:10 p.m. in the International
Law Moot Court Room in the College of Law. The event is free and open to the public.
Advance registration is requested here. Attendees are encouraged to arrive by noon to be seated for lunch before the program
begins at 12:30 p.m.
As deputy judge advocate general, Borcherding is the second highest-ranking legal
officer in the U.S. Army, leading legal support for Army operations worldwide.
“Major General Borcherding has spent his career at the intersection of law and national security, and our community will benefit from learning from someone of his caliber,” Reeves says. “Bringing leaders like him to campus is exactly the kind of experience that sets a University of Wyoming education apart.”
