“Dome After Dark” returns to the University of Wyoming’s Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium for its third year, transforming the planetarium dome into an immersive, late-night audiovisual experience with live DJs, electronic music, real-time visuals, projection and full-dome digital environments surrounding the audience.
Presented by the planetarium and the University of Wyoming Innovation Network (UWIN),
the rave event -- to help kick off the fall semester for students -- is scheduled
from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, in the basement of the Physical Sciences Building.

“Dome After Dark grew out of a collaboration between the planetarium and SciDIY Makerspace,
and explores what happens when music technology, immersive media, projection, science,
live visual production, digital making and performance collide,” says Jane Crayton,
Makerspace coordinator and live dome curator/instructor for UWIN.
The artist lineup includes DJs Artisan, Jane daPain and OsVinci. Live visual artists/VJs
scheduled to perform are Amelia Myers, Zane Scott and Jane daPain.
Silas, performing as Artisan, is a UW sophomore from Green River majoring in music
industry studies and minoring in entrepreneurship. He joins the lineup as this year’s
guest DJ, performing live electronic music beneath the full-dome visuals.
Myers is a UW senior from Snohomish, Wash., double majoring in astrophysics and physics.
She will create and mix live visuals across the planetarium dome throughout the night.
