Christi Boggs has been named interim director of the University of Wyoming’s Ellbogen
Center for Teaching and Learning (ECTL). In this role, Boggs will provide leadership for the center and its work supporting
faculty, instructional innovation and teaching excellence across the university.
Boggs brings extensive experience in teaching and learning, faculty development, instructional
technology and innovative approaches to student engagement. Her knowledge of UW and
her ability to work collaboratively with faculty and academic leaders across disciplines
will be particularly valuable as ECTL continues to strengthen its support for teaching
and learning, Interim Provost Anne Alexander says.
“Christi brings both deep expertise and a genuine commitment to supporting our faculty
and their teaching,” Alexander says. “She understands the opportunities and challenges
facing today’s instructors and students, and she has the experience, creativity and
collaborative approach needed to lead ECTL during this important period. I am very
pleased that she has agreed to serve in this role.”
“I’m super excited to be stepping into this role as we welcome a new administration,”
Boggs says. “The ECTL team is fired up about our work with faculty, and we have several
great initiatives moving forward, including artificial intelligence, critical thinking,
assessment and accessibility. I love working with faculty and talking about teaching
and learning, so please reach out.”
ECTL houses three divisions: Assessment; Critical and Creative Thinking; and Online and Digital Learning. It’s located on the fifth floor of Coe Library. The center is dedicated to enhancing teaching and learning across campus, offering professional development, consultations and programming for faculty, staff and graduate students university-wide.
