Grammy-nominated duo The War and Treaty, presented by Buchanan Center Special Events, will perform at the University of Wyoming’s Arts and Sciences Auditorium Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m.

The 2025 Grammy nominees and Americana Music Awards winners have earned recognition from the Recording Academy, the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and the Americana Music Association for their distinctive blend of soul, gospel, blues and country.

Tickets are $33 for general admission.

Tickets are available at www.tix.com/ticket-sales/uwyo/6984/event/1474510, in person or at (307) 766-6666 at the Performing Arts box office, Monday through Friday, noon-6 p.m. and one hour before performances.

The War and Treaty, made up of husband-and-wife musicians Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter, have built a reputation for a sound that moves freely across soul, gospel, country, blues, folk and rock.

They have earned two Grammy Awards nominations -- best new artist and best American roots song for “Blank Page” -- and the Americana Music Association has named them both duo/group of the year and emerging act of the year.

They also have the distinction of being the first African American duo to be nominated for vocal duo of the year by both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.

Their music catalog includes “Healing Tide,” “Hearts Town,” “Lover’s Game,” “Plus One” and “The Story of Michael and Tanya,” their latest album.
