and members of its community in stories. Here is a summary of some of the recent coverage:
The visit by University of Wyoming leaders, employees, students and alumni to Buffalo,
N.Y., connected to UW sponsorship of the Buffalo Bills’ game against Tampa Bay, received
extensive coverage in western New York Media, including WIVB Channel 4, WGRZ Channel 2 and the Buffalo News.
A national Associated Press story about Sunday’s game also mentioned the UW sponsorship and quarterback Josh
Allen’s coming visit to Laramie.
A UW Alumni Association-led fundraising effort for Allen’s favorite charity also received
attention from WGRZ Channel 2 in Buffalo.

by Cowboy State Daily.
The Interior Department’s designation of uranium as a critical mineral is good news
for Wyoming, Fred McLaughlin, director of UW’s Center for Economic Geology Research,
told Cowboy State Daily. The Interior Department, through the U.S. Geological Survey, published the final
2025 list of critical minerals, outlining 60 minerals vital to the U.S. economy and
national security that face potential risks from disrupted supply chains.
UW College of Law Professor Jason Robison was quoted in a High Country News article about multistate negotiations regarding the future of the Colorado River.
Robison suggests that litigation is not the best path forward.

Dylan Fernholz-Hartman, director of external public affairs and advocacy for Associated
Students of UW, was mentioned in a Jackson Hole New and Guide article as speaking about the Wyoming Hathaway Scholarship during a recent meeting

the award and flexibility of the scholarship.
Rob Godby, a UW associate professor of economics, was quoted in a Cowboy State Daily story about Ramaco Resources, a rare earth minerals mining company that opened the
Brook Mine in Ranchester last year. The mine is facing scrutiny from investors and
geologists. Godby said, to date, it is not clear whether a short-seller report and
other scrutiny is driving down Ramaco’s stock price.
The Rawlins Times covered the recent 42nd annual Wyoming Business Alliance Governor’s Business Forum, which took place at UW’s Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.
