State, national and international media frequently feature the University of Wyoming
and members of its community in stories. Here is a summary of some of the recent coverage:
UW Professor Khaled Ksaibati is quoted in a Cowboy State Daily article about a crash caused when a semitrailer veered off Interstate 80, demolishing
part of a Rawlins-area bridge. He says newly released dashcam footage shows that a
median cable on the interstate prevented the crash from being much worse.
In a Buffalo Bulletin article about ranchers destocking their herds due to drought conditions, UW Extension
educator Micah Most says there wasn’t enough moisture this spring to support range
grass growth, and lack of snowpack meant many irrigators didn’t have enough water
to produce an abundant hay crop.
Sheridan Media published a joint UW/Sheridan College media release about a new Express Transfer
Agreement and the college’s Future Cowboys program.
A UW media release about the “Conversations on Democracy” lecture series taking place
at multiple locations this fall was published by The Sheridan Press. The series will feature UW faculty and expert guests exploring a variety of contemporary
issues important to Wyoming and the nation.
The Laramie Boomerang published UW’s release about the College of Business career fair Sept. 16-17. A total
of 497 students attended, including 360 College of Business undergraduate students
and 76 students from outside the college.
The Boomerang also picked up UW’s release about the October schedule for UW’s Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium.
