Questions about the UW Student Visit program? Feel free to call the Campus Visitor Center [located in the Wyoming Union] at 307-766-4075 or email visituw@uwyo.edu
In normal times, the Campus Visitor Center fits a campus tour and an Admissions informative meeting around our scheduled nursing visit time(s) and will make sure you can take part in both campus and nursing tours. Admissions will contact the School of Nursing to let us know you are coming for our school visit.
In times that are NOT normal, as in COVID-19 or variant upticks, staff work to present a virtual option.
Nursing can give you a packet that will provide vital information. In addition and if you would like, we can have nursing faculty call you to discuss the program and to answer your questions.
Email uwnursing@uwyo.edu to request a packet or faculty call.
Please check back to this page nearer the dates noted for nursing visits. We will know closer to each date whether the visit will be virtual or in-person. Following the nursing sessions, there will be a 1/2 hour Admissions information session.
Even if nursing visits remain virtual, prospective students can still request an in-person UW campus tour, but that would need to be decoupled from the virtual Nursing visit.
The following dates are set for nursing meetings. See above under How Do I Schedule A Vist, Step 2. Choose either the in-person visit day link or the virtual nursing visit link, depending on your preference.
June 21st
July 19th
When you come to campus for an in-person visit, you typically will hear from an advisor with guidance on preparing for admission to the nursing program. You will also be given a printout as to the courses you would take, and what the nursing curriculum will look like in regard to clinical courses. You will be given a tour of our Clinical Simulation Center. You will be shown how we use our simulated manikens in our teaching, and will likely be given some hands-on experience during the tour.
