Professor Jinke Tang received his Ph.D. degree in physics from Iowa State University in 1989 and taught at the University of New Orleans for 17 years before he moved to Laramie in 2007.
His area of expertise is experimental condensed matter physics and materials science. His research focuses on materials for spintronic applications including magnetic semiconductors and half-metals, thermoelectric materials that can be used for energy harvesting, energy efficient materials that convert light into electricity (as in photovoltaic solar cells) and vice versa (as in wte light emitting diodes).
