In alignment with UW’s 2023+ Strategic Plan, the purpose of the Presidential Fellows program is to elevate and facilitate faculty-led projects that advance the university.
The celebration and promotion of teaching, research, extension, engagement, innovation, inclusion, and service contributions to UW’s mission is a key execution strategy of UW’s 2023+ Strategic Plan and the Presidential Fellows program contributes to this important work.
Current Presidential Fellows
Burgess is an Assistant Professor of Economics. He is developing a series of rapid-response dialogs among students, faculty, and staff on contentious issues affecting the campus, and he is developing a podcast called Grounded, Not Divided that highlights the work of leaders across sectors making a difference on important issues on the ground.
Hamerlinck is the Director of the Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center. As WyGISC Director he serves on the State of Wyoming Governor's GIS Advisory Board and is active in the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS). Hamerlinck has been charged by President Seidel to lead the AI Across the University Commission.
Shogren is the Stroock Chair of Environmental Conservation and Management and professor in the Department of Economics and he serves on the Wyoming Art Council, working with the Neltje Center Executive Director Beth Venn to explore the nature of the creative economy.
Taggart is an associate professor of public administration and nonprofit management in the School of Politics, Public Affairs, and International Studies, he is working with Senior Vice Provost Tami Benham-Deal and Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs David Bagley to establish a Faculty Leadership Institute at UW.
