Training Opportunities

  • Mental Health First Aid

    • The University of Wyoming Wellness Center was awarded a federal SAMHSA Grant to implement Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) in the campus community. MHFA is a comprehensive training that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use concerns among adults by teaching participants de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies. At the Wellness Center, we are dedicated to training UW students, staff, faculty, law enforcement, and the broader public who interact with college students, in MHFA. Our mission during the course of this grant is to increase awareness and skills through training, connect people to appropriate resources, and decrease the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use conditions. If you are interested in learning more about the program, participating in MHFA, or becoming a MHFA Instructor, contact the Wellness Center today!
