Campus Recreation employs a full-time nationally certified and state licensed Athletic Trainer. Athletic Trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Athletic trainers work under the direction of a physician as prescribed by state licensure statutes. Learn more about Athletic Training through the National Athletic Trainers' Association.

We will continue to offer Telehealth Visits for those who would like to contact the Athletic Trainer via technology.
Here is what to expect once you have booked your appointment:
You will receive a confirmation email from the Wellness Center.
As soon as you have been added to Healthy Roster, you will get an email inviting you to the platform.
This is optional
If you have already been added to Healthy Roster, you will not get another invitation
You will receive another email from Healthy Roster requesting a signature on the document titled "Informed consent for Telehealth Services". This must be completed before a visit can occur.
If you have previously signed this document, you will not get this email. This document only needs to be signed once.
Once your appointment has been scheduled, and your consent form has been signed, you will receive an email from Healthy Roster with a link to a secure visit. At your appointment time, just use the link to connect.
Facilitate your recovery and unwind with a combination of heat, cold, and compression treatments! Our CryoLounge provides a similar experience to a cold tub without the inconvenience of getting wet. It allows for custom treatments that provide cryotherapy to specific areas while providing heat elsewhere on the body for a more comfortable experience. Available by appointment in the Athletic Training Room during Wellness Center hours. UW students only.
Looking to feel rejuvenated after a hard workout, a long travel day, or standing for hours? Normatec utilizes compression technology to help you recover, increase circulation, decrease swelling, pain, & soreness. Compression begins at the feet, hands, or upper quad (depending on the attachment) and continues in a pulsing manner and then releases as it works its way up your limb. Available by appointment in the Athletic Training Room during Wellness Center hours. UW Students only.
