NSF created the ART Ambassador program to build a nationwide network students, faculty, and staff who will be the agents of change within their institutions. ART Ambassadors will participate in both national and regional programs focused on building skills and capacity to translate research into real-world solutions that improve our world.
The ART Ambassador program is open to faculty, post-docs, graduate students and staff. Participation from all academic disciplines is encouraged. Ambassadors will receive ongoing training and support funded by the NSF.
Ambassadors serve as advocates and mentors for research translation, learning and sharing both locally and nationally with the emerging national network of NSF ART Ambassadors at other ART grantee institutions. Ambassadors will attend forums and seminars, as well as mentor colleagues. Estimated time commitment is 20-30 hours per year.
Ambassadors who attend all ART in-person and virtual training and networking events will be eligible to receive a $3,000 travel grant.
