Undergraduate Summer Research on Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA)


Conduct research on controlled environment agriculture (CEA) and contribute to the future of sustainable food systems at the University of Wyoming.


This 10-week summer program supports undergraduates at U.S. Institutions, including community college students, to conduct convergence research in controlled environment agriculture (CEA). CEA provides a potential solution for food production to the grand challenges such as food crisis and food growth. The program involves UW faculty members and scientists, designs convergence research toward resource-efficient CEA, and provides a unique integrated research experience for REU students through collaborative projects across civil engineering, electrical engineering, plant science, botany, nutrition, and business together with industry partners. REU students will work as a cohort, yielding numerous opportunities to promote growth in teamwork, leadership, and peer teaching.
