ResNet is available in all Residence Halls, the River Village Apartments, and the Honors and Engineering Houses. Network connectivity outside the Residence Halls and River Village Apartments is provided by Information Technology and not Residence Life & Dining Services. However, the Walk-In Service Center is here to help all current Faculty, Staff, or Student needing assistance with their computer or mobile device. We support nearly all hardware on current platforms and recent operating systems, but we do not support printers or printer issues.
As a student of the University of Wyoming, you are bound to the rules and regulations of the University. Your contract for housing binds you to the ResNet Service Agreement and the Residence Life & Dining Services Responsibilities and Rights.
We do not offer support for alternative operating systems or systems older then those listed above, but we won't stop you from using them. We will give you as much information as we possibly can about our networks so that you can attempt to get your computer online.
We have seen very few problems with the newest distributions of Linux, but be careful because you can be hacked very quickly unless you have some knowledge of Linux security.
