The Wyoming Technology Transfer and Research Products Center (RPC) secures intellectual property protection on technologies invented or developed at the University of Wyoming and markets these technologies to companies (i.e. find a licensee for them) in return for royalties and other remuneration. Occasionally, faculty members desire to start his/her own company based on the new technology. In this case the RPC office would be responsible for spinning out the technology from the university to the faculty member’s company. Follow the links below to learn more about the process, your responsibility, and services available to assist you.
Review our brochure for more details: RPC Faculty Brochure.

It is imperative that inventors keep a detailed notebook of their inventions. Find out why and how!!
For the Wyoming Technology Transfer and Research Products Center (RPC) to begin the process of protecting, patenting, and transferring your invention, you must make proper disclosure to this office using our Invention Disclosure Form, available online or from the RPC.
Faculty, staff and students need to be aware of Regulation 9-1. Per this regulation inventions, copyrights, etc. created through the use of University resources are the property of the University.
