Dr. Payne is an Assistant Professor at the Science and Mathematics Teaching Center, working with professional learning for mathematics teachers in the state.  She also supervises the middle level mathematics master’s program. She has previously taught middle and high school, working with students at all grade levels (in multiple subjects) and provided professional learning for gifted teachers through the Belin-Blank Center (University of Iowa). Anna has presented at numerous conferences at the state, national, and international levels on gifted and mathematics education. 

Anna's research interests are in the area of mathematical giftedness and creativity, as well as working with twice exceptionality in the classroom.
