Letter from the Director

Dear colleagues, partners, and friends of the SMTC.

It is with deep gratitude and pride that I share the SMTC 2025 Impact Report. This year has been one of meaningful growth, strengthened partnerships, and renewed commitment to empowering Wyoming educators and supporting high‑quality STEM teaching across our state.

In 2025, our team facilitated more than eighty professional learning experiences for over 1,500 participants. These experiences reached educators in nearly every corner of Wyoming, demonstrating the power of sustained, community‑rooted professional learning. Our graduate programs continued to thrive as well, offering rigorous coursework and mentorship that supported science and math educators, including impactful thesis and Plan B projects that directly addressed educational needs. We also contributed to the broader field through conference presentations, publications, and ongoing grant funded research that advances STEM teaching and learning.

This year also affirmed the importance of collaboration. Our partnerships with schools and districts, state agencies, UW colleges and departments, and non[1]profit organizations continued to anchor our ability to offer learning that is place‑based, responsive, and deeply connected to Wyoming’s landscapes and communities. These relationships enrich not only our programs, but also the educators and students we serve.

Looking ahead, the SMTC remains committed to strengthening the foundations we have built. In 2026, our focus will be on sustaining the high‑quality professional learning experiences educators rely on, ensuring continuity across our programs, and supporting long‑term relationships with our partners. We are also committed to ensuring that our graduate programs and scholarly contributions remain strong and grounded in the needs of Wyoming educators. By investing in lasting systems, we aim to create professional learning experiences that endure, support teacher well‑being, and contribute to sustainable improvements in STEM education statewide.

None of this work would be possible without our partners, donors, educators, and colleagues who believe in the transformative power of excellent teaching. Thank you for your continued support, trust, and collaboration. Together, we are expanding what is possible for Wyoming’s students, teachers, and communities.

With appreciation,

Dr. Jessica Marcolini Director,
