What does it take to be a Summer Bridge Peer Host?

What is Summer Bridge?
Summer Bridge is a program for first-year students in summer before they begin their fall semester. It provides them academic, social, and outdoor opportunities. It allows them to have an easier transition to college. Students earn six credits, a Math Bridge class and a First Year Seminar.

Peer Hosts are similar to what a host does when outsiders visit their home. They make students feel comfortable. They're inclusive. They're open. They show students around. They are clear about house rules. They build in some alone time for themselves.
