Financial Aid and Scholarship Resources

Federally sponsored grants, loans, and work-study programs, as well as a variety of scholarship opportunities are coordinated by the Scholarships and Financial Aid office. Information and forms can be found at the Scholarships and Financial Aid website.

The FAFSA form must be completed by March 1st for all semesters that you are planning on attending during the upcoming year.  Most students have to estimate their income from the previous calendar year to complete the FAFSA in on time.  Don't worry, it's okay to estimate.  Opportunities for corrections are available later.  Don't miss the March 1st deadline.

When you submit your FAFSA form, you are automatically considered for 250 general scholarships through the UW Scholarships and Financial Aid office.  The newest edition to the scholarship family is the Hathaway Scholarship

Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

The Bernice A. Bettis Scholarships, is offered through the Scholarships and Financial Aid office via AcademicWorks. Bettis Scholarships are awarded each spring for the following academic year.

The Mortensen Scholarship is coordinated and offered through the College of Business.

The Laramie Plains Lions Club awards a scholarship, usually $600, each semester to a deserving student with either a visual impairment or a hearing impairment.  Application opportunities for this scholarship are sent to potential applicants each semester.

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) offers assistance with training for qualified individuals for whom a college degree is the best way to achieve employment.  For more information on services and support offered by DVR, contact their office at 307-745-3160 (V/TTY).
