Learn More About the International Engineering Minor
The international engineering minor is an incredible way to broaden your perspective and apply your engineering education in new ways. As part of this program, you’ll take 18 credit hours of courses and complete an international education experience. Students have the opportunity to choose their courses from a long list of multidisciplinary electives.

The international engineering minor is only available to engineering majors.
All students earning the international engineering minor must complete an educational
experience outside of the United States. Examples include:
- A semester or year abroad at a college or university
- UW faculty-led study abroad program
- International service-learning experience (such as an Engineers Without Borders project or an alternative spring break trip)
- Internship with a company outside the United States
- Research experience outside the United States
