UW Postpones The World Needs More Cowboys Celebration in Worland

Restrictions on University of Wyoming travel have prompted the postponement of its “The World Needs More Cowboys” celebration Thursday, March 19, in Worland.

Due to concerns about the novel coronavirus COVID-19, UW Acting President Neil Theobald has halted all university-sponsored domestic travel, with few exceptions.

Theobald had been scheduled to participate in the March 19 evening event at the Washakie Museum, as well as at assemblies at Worland and Ten Sleep high schools, along with current UW students from Washakie County, faculty members and others.

The university will look for opportunities to reschedule the events at a future date.
