UW Faculty Senate Speaker Series Postponed Until Fall

April 13, 2020

Because of coronavirus COVID-19 concerns, the spring semester Faculty Senate Speaker Series program is being pushed to the fall semester.

Scheduled spring speaker Carlos Martinez del Rio, a Wyoming Excellence Chair and zoology and physiology professor, will deliver his talk this fall. Each year, two speakers are chosen -- one for the fall semester and one for the spring semester.

In the meantime, nominations are still being accepted for the Faculty Senate Speaker Series for the next academic year. The deadline to nominate a faculty member is Friday, April 24.

The award carries an honorarium and requires a lecture on the UW campus in Laramie, which will be broadcast to UW-Casper and the community colleges. The Faculty Senate Speaker Series is an award established by the Faculty Senate and funded by the Office of Academic Affairs.
