UW Student Success Hub Partners With UniWyo Credit Union

Efforts to enhance the success of all University of Wyoming students got a boost recently, as UW’s Student Success and Graduation Hub has partnered with UniWyo Credit Union.

The financial support provided by UniWyo will enhance current and future initiatives, including the popular Cowboy Coaching peer mentoring program.

Since partnering, UniWyo has invested close to $30,000 in the Student Success and Graduation Hub. The partnership included a $10,000 gift that was successfully unlocked during Giving Day Oct. 20-21, when over 100 parents donated to UW.

Launched in spring 2020, the “U-Dub Hub” is largely focused on helping current students successfully reach graduation through support and programming, personalized to their needs.

“We look forward to partnering with UniWyo and enhancing our collective missions, bettering people’s lives,” says Nycole Courtney, associate vice president/dean of student success and graduation. “This partnership will include a focus on financial literacy as well as unique opportunities to develop and retain students to complete their degrees at UW.”

Support from UniWyo will directly benefit areas such as the Student Success and Graduation Hub’s flagship program, Cowboy Coaches, and AdmitHub, UW’s student texting platform. In a little more than a year, the number of peer mentors in the program increased from 10 to 30, and further resources will allow for even more in 2022.

UniWyo’s support will help all activities executed by the Student Success and Graduation Hub, with some of those funds dedicated to supporting financial literacy, an area of passion for UniWyo.

As a longtime part of the Laramie community and financial supporter of UW since 1953, UniWyo Credit Union is involved with UW in many facets of student success, including scholarships and financial literacy education, and athletics.

“At UniWyo, we put people first -- our members, our colleagues, everyone in our communities. UW students are at the heart of that,” says Mindy Uitterdyk, UniWyo vice president of marketing. “We’re excited to partner with the Student Success and Graduation Hub to enable students to reach their highest potential in all aspects of life.”
