UW and Wyoming SBDC Network to Host Business Workshop in Gillette April 29

Small-business owners can learn how to craft marketing messages for their companies during an in-person workshop Saturday, April 29.

P.J. Burns and Paula Kelting will present a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network workshop titled “Tell the Story of Your Business” from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Campbell County Public Library, located at 2101 S. 4-J Road in Gillette. To register, go here. Registration is free but limited to the first 15 attendees.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The workshop will provide small-business owners with ready-to-use strategies to create customer-engaging marketing messages by using their expertise and passion for business. Small-business owners will learn quick tips to keep their content fresh; make their websites attractive to search engines; and use social media to increase customer engagement.

Burns is the Wyoming SBDC Network’s regional director for Campbell, Crook, Johnson, Sheridan and Weston counties. She has spent the majority of her career advising and advocating for small businesses in her roles at chambers of commerce and economic development organizations. She has a background in marketing, human resources, strategic planning, leadership and management.

Kelting, reference manager for the Campbell County Public Library, will demonstrate free tools available through the Wyoming Library to Business Network. A lightbox and ring light, as well as video and sound labs, will be highlighted.
