Becoming a Global Buddy is a great way to make new friends within the wider UW international community!
The UWYO Global Buddies Program is an initiative within the UW Global Engagement office to promote cross-cultural relationships between UW domestic and international students. Students from all over UW, domestic and international alike, are matched into buddy groups based on common interests to meet and share perspectives and to build long-lasting friendships.
All UW students are welcome! International students and U.S. students will learn about new cultures and form a new friendship.
You are encouraged to spend time with your buddy group throughout the semester, at least once a month. Groups who document the most gatherings throughout the semester will win a prize!
We also ask buddies to attend larger group events once a month like matching day,
scavenger hunts, cookie decorating, and other intercultural activities.
