Celebrate WIND's 30th Year Anniversary

To celebrate its 30th year anniversary, WIND will be hosting educator, advocate, and fillmmaker Jim Warne. Join us October 7th, 2024 for a Public Talk and Anniversary Gala and October 8th, 2024 for the film screening of 7th Generation.

October 7th at 3:30PM: Public Talk and Anniversary Gala

Public Talk and Anniversary Gala at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center with guest speaker Jim Warne. Jim Warne's talk will be followed by a reception with appetizers and a cash bar. All events are free and open to the public.

WIND will be hosting a film screening and discussion with Jim Warne of his award-winning film, 7th Generation. There will be captioning and audio description available. Contact uwwind@uwyo.edu for any questions regarding the 30th Anniversary events.

Jim Warne

Jim Warne, an educator-advocate filmmaker, is a member of the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) Nation. Jim holds a BS from Arizona State University and an MS from San Diego State University (SDSU). He created continuing education programs at SDSU Interwork Institute and has written over $50 million in grants and contracts for various universities and tribal nations.

Currently, he is the Community Engagement & Diversity Director at the University of South Dakota (USD) Center for Disabilities (UCEDD), Oyáte Circle Sanford School of Medicine, and an instructor for USD Pediatrics. He is also the president of Warrior Society Development, LLC, and consults with government agencies, tribal nations, and academic institutions. Jim is a motivational speaker, advocate, and filmmaker, known for his award-winning documentary 7th Generation and his Emmy-nominated film Oyáte un Itówapi - Pictures of my People.
