LRCC Professional Opportunities

In support of the on-going work in Wyoming’s K-12 schools around literacy and to complement recent grant support offered through the state WY-BILT grants the UW Literacy Research Center and Clinic would like to make administrators aware of several professional development opportunities offered through the University of Wyoming.

Literacy Endorsement for K-12 teachers:  Literacy is the foundation that a child's education is built upon. The Literacy Endorsement Certificate Program is designed to serve K-12 teachers who wish to obtain the Wyoming Reading Endorsement. Students will examine theories, programs, and practices in the teaching of literacy, the evaluation of literacy development, and the integration of literacy across curriculum areas.  More information can be found here: Literacy Endorsement Link

Master of Arts, Literacy, Online:  Coursework in the Literacy Endorsement program can be applied toward a Master of Arts.  More information about this program can be found here:  Masters of Arts, Literacy, Online Link

If districts are interested in creating a cohort of teachers to enter into any of these programs the literacy faculty affiliated with the LRCC would be willing to provide additional support targeted toward individual school and district needs and goals.  This could include online and/or face to face support to create a community of learners.
