Casey grew up across the southern and western US but made Lander his home in 2010. Before pursuing medicine, he studied Literature and Foreign Languages at Trinity University in Texas and worked in outdoor education for ten years. Casey is drawn to rural medicine by its emphasis on service, teamwork, life-long learning, and community-building. He is keen to advocate for the under-served and vulnerable in a state whose health policies often undermine the well-being of these populations. Though he is drawn to several primary care areas, he’s keeping an open mind on the specialty he’ll pursue. Casey has various interests, including woodworking, cooking, karaoke, skiing, mountaineering, music, and film.
