Makena Engelker (E-24)

Makena has lived in a few towns around Wyoming, including Torrington, Lusk, and Douglas. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Psychology. After graduating, she worked as a medical assistant at Ivinson Memorial Hospital. Makena’s love for medicine was sparked in high school when she shadowed an inspiring physician who strove to improve patient care for patients living in rural areas. One of her biggest passions is to bring more healthcare resources to rural patients. Makena is interested in various medical specialties and looks forward to exploring these and more in medical school. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, drawing, and golfing.
