Shooting Sports

Online Resources

The Wyoming 4-H Program offers several shooting sports projects and events for its youth members. Adult volunteers are specially trained to teach youth everything they need to know regarding this project area.

  • Volunteer Leader Certification
In the spring months, the Shooting Sports Training Committee will be coming to a county near you to conduct a training! If you are a new shooting sports leader or have reached five years since your last training, plan to attend one of these opportunities. Dates and locations to be determined.

  • Volunteer Development Committee Meeting
Each year volunteer leaders meet to discuss the educational components of the program as well as plan the events mentioned above. The 2018 meeting was held at the Hilton in Casper on Saturday, February 24th.

  • Competitive Events for Youth
    • State Shoot is held each year in Douglas the second week of July.
    • Each year, senior-aged members can qualify for and attend an awards trip in Raton, New Mexico.
    • Youth interested may submit applications to participate at the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational. This event is typically held the third week of June.
