Steps to Apply

Admission Requirements

Step 1

FILL OUT AN APPLICATION

Complete an online application for admission early in your senior year of high school. This will ensure that you are eligible for as many scholarship opportunities as possible and that you will receive other admission information in a timely manner. There is a $40 non-refundable application fee when you apply.

You may also apply to the University of Wyoming using the Common Application
if you are applying to other Common App Member Schools.

Step 2

SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

Have your official high school and/or college transcripts sent to UW Admissions.
Your transcripts must be sent directly from your school.
UW Admissions will provisionally admit students based on a six-semester transcript.

Step 3

SUBMIT YOUR ACT & SAT SCORES

Test scores are not currently required for undergraduate admission decisions to the University of Wyoming, however, they can help you with securing your highest potential dollar amount for our financial commitments. These financial awards are provisionally awarded to you when you’re admitted, so we highly recommend you submit them with your application materials. You can enter these codes when submitting your scores to schools.

Step 4

CREDIT FOR AP, IB, CLEP &
DUAL CREDIT COLLEGE COURSES

If you've taken Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or College Level Examination Program (CLEP) subject tests, please have an official copy of your scores sent directly to the UW Admissions Office from the testing agency.

High School Success Curriculum

The following high school success curriculum is required for first-year students to be considered for admission to the University of Wyoming.

$4 Years Math$

_{MATH REQUIREMENTS: To include a college preparatory Algebra I, Algebra II, and geometry sequence.}

_{SCIENCE REQUIREMENTS: One year must be from the physical sciences: physics, chemistry, or a college preparatory
physical science course. The remaining years may be a combination of biological, life,
physical, or earth/space science courses.}

_{ADDITIONAL COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS: Students must take four years of additional coursework from any of the following
subject areas: Foreign Language, Fine and Performing Arts, or Career-Vocational Education.
Two years must be sequenced in the same discipline.}

Home School Student Admission Qualifications

We welcome our qualified home school students to apply to UW! Home school students must meet the same requirements as other high school graduates. The home school instructor should complete the Home School Credit Evaluation form and send it to the following:

General Education Development (GED) Credentials

Students who have earned their GED are encouraged to apply!

Requirements:

Applicants must have an average/overall score of at least 164 on the GED test.

Applicants less than 21 years old must submit ACT or SAT results to the UW Admissions Office.

Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age or your high school class must have graduated.
