American Indian Studies Program

American Indian Studies at the University of Wyoming is a three-dimensional program offering academic courses to all interested students, support services to American Indian students, and outreach to the larger Wyoming community. This multi-disciplinary program develops respect for, and understanding of, Native views; enables American Indian students to obtain a university education; and extends UW resources to residents of the state and region.


The dates for the 2019 Native American Summer Institute have been announced!

June 9-15, 2019

Eligible Native American High School Students (entering grades 10, 11 & 12 in the Fall 2019) are encouraged to apply!  Spend a week on the University of Wyoming campus - live in the residence halls, explore various academic departments and experience what college life is all about!  For more information or to apply for the 2019 program - please click here
