The University of Wyoming Department of Art Printmaking Studio has relief, intaglio and lithographic printmaking facilities. Students work with traditional historic printmaking processes as well as more recent additions to the printmaking lexicon that provide connections to photographic and digital media. Students explore issues of making multiples and variables, as well as the print in roles that move beyond the framed image. It is not uncommon for students to combine printmaking media and work with printmaking processes with other media and materials in upper division courses. Similarly, Book Art, also taught in the Printmaking Studio, begins with traditional construction techniques and encourages students to build on tradition as they book art skills to a variety of technical and conceptual directions.
