College of Business Scholarships

Andrikopoulos Family Scholarship

Andy and Barbara Andrikopoulos established this endowed scholarship to provide funds for business students transferring from Laramie County Community College.   Special consideration is given to students who have shown a desire to improve their station in life through education.

Rudolph "Rudy" and Louise Anselmi and Jeri Kirk Family Trust Business Scholarship

Rudolph "Rudy" (BS '25) and Louise Anselmi began providing this scholarship as an annual scholarship during the 1980s.  Upon their deaths, their family established the Rudolph "Rudy" and Louise Anselmi and Jeri Kirk Family Trust Business Scholarship which continues to provide this scholarship.  Awards are made to a full-time College of Business students majoring in accounting.

L.C. Atkins and Mary Lou Atkins Scholarship

Mary Lou Atkins of Torrington, Wyoming, established this scholarship in 1992 in memory of her late husband, L. C. Atkins.  Awards are made to full-time undergraduate business students who are Goshen County residents.

Harold E. Baker/Wyoming Wholesalers & Coin Operators Association, Inc. Scholarship

Members of the Wyoming Candy, Tobacco and Coin Vendors Association established this endowment in 1989 to honor the late Harold E. Baker.  The award is made to a full-time junior or senior business student majoring in business administration, management, or marketing.

Bank of Commerce of Rawlins Graduate Student Scholarship in Finance

The Board of Directors of the Bank of Commerce in Rawlins established this annual scholarship to benefit graduate students majoring in finance at the University of Wyoming.  The award goes to a Carbon County resident who obtained his or her undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Wyoming.  If a Carbon County resident is not eligible, a resident from the state of Wyoming receives the award.

Richard S. Bradley, Jr. Memorial Accounting Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by Mrs. Dorothy J. Bradley in 1987 in memory of Richard S. Bradley, Jr. (BS '49).  An award is made to a full-time College of Business senior majoring in accounting who transferred to the University of Wyoming from Laramie County Community College.

Charles E. and Loleete J. Brodersen Tuition Scholarship

Bryan and Evelyn Brodersen of Laramie established this scholarship in honor of Mr. Charles E. and Mrs. Loleete J. Brodersen.  Awards are made to full-time, undergraduate students in the College of Business with at least a sophomore standing and a grade point average of a 3.0 or better.

Keith H. and Laura G. Burdick Memorial Scholarship

Established by family and friends, this endowed scholarship is in memory of long-time accounting faculty member and department chairman, Keith H. Burdick, and his wife, Laura G. Burdick.  This scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior or senior College of Business student majoring in accounting who has a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (3.0 in accounting courses).

Roy Chamberlain Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by Mrs. Gertrude Chamberlain in memory of her husband, Roy Chamberlain.  The award is made to a College of Business student who is interested in private enterprise and who demonstrates ambition and determination in career planning.

John C. and Esther L. Clay Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by John C. and Esther L. Clay of Cheyenne, Wyoming.  Awards are made to full-time students in the College of Business who maintain a cumulative 3.0 grade point average or better.

John C. and Esther L. Clay Graduate Fellowship in Business

This endowed scholarship was established by John C. and Esther L. Clay of Cheyenne, Wyoming.  Awards are  made to students enrolled in the MBA program or other graduate business program at the University of Wyoming.  The selection process is rigorous and requires students to maintain a minimum grade point average  of 3.0 and to be recognized by a faculty member for academic and career potential.

Gregory Brian Comeaux Memorial Scholarship

David M. and Beverly A. Comeaux established this scholarship in honor of their son, Gregory Brian Comeaux, who died in an auto/train accident near Laramie on October 30, 1988.  An award is made to a Wyoming high school graduate majoring in accounting in the College of Business.  Recipients must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

Daniel Lee Dolan Memorial Scholarship

This annual scholarship is provided by Ed and Laureda Dolan in memory of Daniel Lee Dolan.  The scholarship is awarded to a graduate of Laramie High School who is a full-time student in the College of Business majoring in business administration.

Joseph C. and Katherine A. Drew Scholarships

These scholarships are provided by an endowment fund established by Joseph C. and Katherine A. Drew of El Cajon, California.  The awards are made to full-time undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Business.

Evelyn I. Ebzery Marketing Scholarship

The John and Helen Ilsley Family Foundation established this scholarship in memory of Evelyn Ebzery. Awards are made to College of Business students majoring in marketing with at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Enterprise Rent-a-Car Scholarship

Enterprise Leasing Company of Denver established this endowed scholarship in 2000.  An award is made to a full-time junior or senior College of Business student majoring in management and/or marketing with at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Senator Michael B. Enzi Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established in 2000 by the Black Hills Corporation to honor the career of Senator Michael B. Enzi and his commitment to the state of Wyoming.  The scholarship is awarded to a College of Business student with a minimum cumulative grade point of 3.0.

Edmond L. Escolas Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship endowment was provided by donations from the family and many friends of Professor Emeritus Edmond L. Escolas.  The award is made to a full-time graduate student, senior, or junior in the College of Business majoring in finance.

Harold D. Flater Memorial Scholarship

This endowment was provided by Jacqueline J. Bath in memory of her father, Harold D. Flater. The award is made to a full-time business student who is majoring in accounting and has at least a 2.5 grade point average.

Larry Robert Garrett Scholarship

This scholarship is provided by Shirley J. Garrett-Robinson in memory of her son, Larry Robert Garrett.  The awards are made to two full-time business students who have at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Ken and Leah Griffin Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established in 2003 by friends of Ken and Leah Griffin.  The award is made to a full-time student in the College of Business who is a first generation college student with either freshman or sophomore standing.

Hilltop National Bank Scholarship

This annual scholarship is provided by Hilltop National Bank in Casper, Wyoming, in support of the banking and financial services program.  An award is made to a full-time business student who is majoring in finance/banking.

Paul and Sandy Hoffman Family Scholarship in Business

Paul and Sandy Hoffman established this scholarship in 2005. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior, senior, or graduate College of Business student who has a 2.5 minimum grade point average.

Ralph W. Holland, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Mrs. Elsie M. Holland established this scholarship in 1997 in honor of Ralph W. Holland, Jr.  This scholarship is awarded to a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior College of Business student who maintains a 3.0 grade point average or better.

E. Deane and Einna Dene Hunton Memorial Fund for Excellence in the College of Business

Mrs. Jean Hunton Coolidge established this endowed fund in 1998 in memory of her parents - E. Deane and Einna Dene Hunton.  An award is made to full-time undergraduate or graduate business students who maintain a 3.5 or better grade point average.  Participation in academic and/or pre-professional organizations and recommendations by faculty are taken into consideration.

Peter M. and Paula Green Johnson Family Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established in 2004 by Peter M. Johnson and Paula Green Johnson.  Awards are made to full-time business students who are Wyoming residents and have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, with preference given to a student with a 3.75 grade point average or better.  The student's work experience and experience with community service is also considered.

Margaret and Sam Kelly Business Scholarship Fund

These endowed scholarships were established in 2004 by Margaret B. and Sam Kelly, Jr. of Rawlins, Wyoming.  Awards are made to students in good standing majoring in the College of Business.  Preference is given to students from Rawlins High School or from Carbon County, Wyoming.

These endowed scholarships were established in 1999 by Margaret B. and Sam Kelly, Jr. of Rawlins, Wyoming.  Awards are made to students in good standing majoring in the College of Business.

Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce Business Council Scholarship

The Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce Business Council established this endowed scholarship in 1987.  The award goes to a full-time student in the College of Business who is an Albany County resident.

LeRoy L. Lee Memorial Accounting Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by Mr. Vincent Siren  in memory of LeRoy L. Lee.  Other friends of Professor Lee have also made contributions to this endowment. The scholarship is awarded to a graduate student pursuing a  Master of Science degree in accounting.

Lenhart, Mason and Associates Scholarship

This annual scholarship was established in 2006 by Lenhart, Mason and Associates, LLC of Casper, Wyoming.  An award is made to a full-time undergraduate or graduate accounting major who maintains a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average and who is a resident of Wyoming.

David Lowe Memorial Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by Jewell Lowe in memory of David M. Lowe.  It is awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in marketing in the College of Business and maintaining a cumulative grade point average between 3.0 and 3.5.  The student must also be well-rounded with involvement in community service and extracurricular activities.

Fathi Mansour Memorial Scholarship

This annual scholarship was established by Mrs. Zeinab Mansour in memory of Dr. Fathi A. Mansour who was an accounting professor at the time of his death.  This scholarship is awarded to full-time College of Business accounting majors with demonstrated academic ability.

MBA General Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to full-time master of business administration students

Lloyd McDaniel Memorial Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by Mrs. Eva McDaniel and friends of Dr. Lloyd McDaniel in his memory.  It is awarded to a full-time junior or senior in the College of Business majoring in accounting who has expressed a desire to become a certified public accountant.

McGee, Hearne & Paiz LLP Accountancy Scholarship

Provided annually by McGee, Hearne & Paiz LLP of Cheyenne, Wyoming, this scholarship is awarded to outstanding full-time accounting students in the College of Business.

Lawrence G. Meeboer Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was provided by the family and friends of Lawrence G. Meeboer (BS '26).  The award is made to a full-time junior or senior in the College of Business who is a Wyoming resident.

Jean F. Messer Memorial Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was provided by family and friends in memory of Dr. Jean F. Messer, long-time accounting professor and former department chairman.  Full-time junior or senior accounting majors in the College of Business are eligible for this award.

John C. Miller Business Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was provided by Mrs. Betty Miller and friends in honor of John C. Miller.  It is awarded to a full-time senior in any Department of Management and Marketing major.

Robert Ross Miller & Frances A. Miller Memorial Scholarship in Accounting

Mrs. Frances A. Miller established this endowed scholarship in memory of Robert Ross Miller.  Mr. Miller received his B.S. in accounting in 1948.  He worked for Texaco for 34 years; his last position was manager of tax accounting.  Juniors or seniors majoring in accounting in the College of Business who maintain good grade point averages qualify for this award.

The Genevieve Edsall Mortensen Scholarship Fund

This endowed scholarship was established by James E. Mortensen in 1999 in honor of his wife, Genevieve Edsall Mortensen.  Late in life, Genevieve developed a neuro-muscular disease which eventually resulted in her using a scooter for mobility.

The Bud and Bing Mortenson Entrepreneurship Endowment

UW alumnus Russ Mortenson (B.S. 1971, business administration) established this endowment in May 2005 in memory of his parents, Bud and Bing Mortenson, who opened their own hardware store in the mid-1950’s in Laramie.  Upper-division business students or graduate students are eligible for the Bud & Bing Mortenson Entrepreneurship Internships to work directly on entrepreneurship activities.

Lois Mottonen Scholarship in the College of Business

Lois Mottonen established this annual scholarship in 2011. Awards of are made to undergraduate students with a 3.0 grade point average or better and with financial need.

Robert and Gertrude Muir College of Business Scholarship

Dixie Muir established this annual scholarship in honor of her parents, Robert and Gertrude Muir.  The award is made to any business student who is a Wyoming resident, is in good academic standing, and has financial need.  Preference is given to students from Johnson County, then from Sheridan County.

M. Clare Mundell Scholarship in Banking & Finance

This endowed scholarship was established by colleagues, family, and friends as a tribute to Dean Emeritus M. Clare Mundell for his hard work and accomplishments as the executive director of the Wyoming Bankers Association as well as his more than 37 years service to the College of Business and University of Wyoming.  It is awarded to full-time juniors and seniors majoring in finance or banking who maintain excellent grade point averages.

Gene W. Murdock Memorial Scholarship in Marketing

This endowed scholarship was established in 2001 by Laura Swan and Sherrie J. Murdock in memory of Dr. Gene W. Murdock.  This scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior or senior College of Business student majoring in marketing.

Patrick E. Nugent Memorial Scholarship

Bonnie M. and George E. Nugent established this endowed memorial scholarship to honor their son, Patrick E. Nugent, who died December 7, 1992.  Patrick received his B.S. in marketing from the University of Wyoming in 1974 and was a strong and generous supporter of the College of Business.  The scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior or senior marketing major.

Keiji G. and Shirley S. Okano Memorial Scholarship for Business Students

This endowed scholarship was established in 2004 by Kathryn G. and Daniel M. Blaney III in memory of Keiji G. and Shirley S. Okano.  This scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior, senior, or graduate student with a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.5.  Preference is given to Wyoming residents and those interested in pursuing a career in business education at the secondary school or college level.

Steven P. Oman Scholarship

This annual scholarship is provided by Steven P. Oman (MBA '84).  The award is made to a full-time College of Business student majoring in finance who maintains a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Michael O'Neill Banking Scholarship

Michael O'Neill established this annual scholarship in 2006 to support seniors in the College of Business with a minor in Banking and Financial Services.

Cassie A. Parish Memorial Scholarship

Charles R. and Carol A. Parish and many friends established this endowed scholarship in honor of Cassie Parish who died in an automobile accident in August 1999.  An award is made to a student enrolled as a marketing major in the College of Business who maintains a minimum 2.5 or better grade point average.  Preference is given to students from Goshen, Niobrara, Platte and Converse counties.

Rawlins National Bank Scholarship

This annual scholarship is provided by the Rawlins National Bank.  The award is made to a full-time College of Business student who graduated from a Carbon County high school.

Tom, Sybil (Buckingham), and Lela Roach Business Scholarship

Tom, Sybil(Buckingham), and Lela Roach established this endowed scholarship in 2005 to fund College of Business undergraduate and graduate students education.  Awards are given to residents of Wyoming with preference to students from Cody High School and athletes.  If no qualified Cody High School graduates are available, preference is given to students from the Big Horn Basin.

Janet A. Roberts & Larry D Fredrick Accounting Scholarship

Janet A. Roberts (BS '72) and Larry D Frederick (BS '72) established this endowed scholarship to benefit a female accounting student.  The award is made to a full-time junior or senior College of Business student majoring in accounting.

Rocky Mountain Power Graduate Scholarship in Economics

This annual scholarship was established by the PacificCorp Foundation for Learning.  The award is made to full-time graduate students with academic or professional interests in the field of regulatory, environmental, or energy economics.

Jack and Eileen Routson Scholarship in Business

Jack and Eileen Routson of Laramie established this annual scholarship in 2009 to benefit full-time College of Business students who are marketing or management majors, or enrolled in the MBA program.  Recipients must be at least a junior and must demonstrate a desire to improve.

Zula Safford Scholarship in the College of Business

This endowed scholarship was established by the estate of A.D. and Zula Safford. Awards are made to full-time College of Business with at least a 3.0 grade point average.

George S. H. Sharratt, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by Bryan E. Sharratt and Shirley M. Sharratt in memory of George S. H. Sharratt, Jr.  The award is made to a full-time junior or senior in the College of Business with demonstrated scholastic ability.

Bryan Edwards Sharratt Memorial Graduate Student Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by Jo Marie McGuire and Carroll C. Sharratt in memory of Bryan Edwards Sharratt.  Awards are made to College of Business graduate students in good standing.

J. Ross Stotts Memorial Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by the family and friends of J. Ross Stotts in his memory.  The scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior or senior in the College of Business majoring in accounting.  The student must be a Wyoming resident who maintains good academic standing.

Laura Hensley Summers Memorial Scholarship

Emily Summers Doherty-Black (BA '56) and friends established this endowed scholarship in memory of Laura Hensley Summers, a long-time faculty member in the College.  The award is made to a female full-time sophomore in the College of Business who maintains a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.

Sundance State Bank Scholarship

This annual scholarship is provided by the Sundance State Bank in support of the banking and financial services program.  The award is made to a full-time junior or senior in the College of Business majoring in finance or who is working toward a banking and financial services minor.  The student recipient must be a Wyoming resident.

Cal S. Taggart & Irene D. Taggart Scholarship Endowment

This endowed scholarship was established by Cal S. and Irene D. Taggart.  The scholarship is awarded to College of Business students who are residents of the Big Horn Basin counties of Park, Big Horn, Washakie, and Hot Springs.

Theodore "Ted" Thormahlen Scholarship in Business

This endowed scholarship was established by the estate of Theodore “Ted” Thormahlen. Awards are made to full-time College of Business students in good academic standing.

Frederick W. and Clara R. Toppan Scholarship

The estate of Frederick W. and Clara R. Toppan established this endowed scholarship.  Awards are given to undergraduate College of Business students with an interest in accounting.  Preference is given to athletes and women.

Clay Unger Business Scholarship

Clay Unger of Cheyenne, Wyoming, established this endowment in 2003 to provide grants for undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, and internships in the College of Business.  It is awarded to full-time business students with a minimum 3.5 grade point average.  Preference is given to Wyoming high school graduates.

Alvin C. & Helen A. Wade Scholarship

This endowed scholarship is provided by the Alvin C. and Helen A. Wade Trust.  It is awarded to a full-time junior or senior in the College of Business who is a Wyoming resident.

Timon Walther Memorial Scholarship Fund

The family and friends of Timon Walther established this endowed scholarship in his memory.  An award is made in odd-numbered years to a sophomore, junior or senior student majoring in the College of Business and who maintains a minimum 3.0 grad point average.  In even-numbered years an award is made to a student in the Statistics Department in the Arts and Sciences College.

Joe H. & Arlene Watt Scholarship

Joe H. and Arlene N. Watt of Sheridan, Wyoming established these endowed scholarships.  The Joe and Arlene Watt Foundation has continued to make contributions toward this endowment.  The awards are made to full-time students in the College of Business.

C.E. "Bud" and Lucille M. Webster Accounting Scholarship

These scholarships were established by the Webster family in honor of Lucille and Bud Webster.  Awards are made to an outstanding male and an outstanding female accounting major.

Woodson Family Foundation Business Excellence Fund

The Woodson Family Foundation established this Excellence Fund to be used at the discretion of the Dean. Awards are made to full-time students in the College of Business with good academic standing.

Wyoming Bankers Association Banking and Finance Scholarship

This endowed scholarship is provided by the Wyoming Bankers Association.  The award is made to a full-time student in the College of Business who is minoring in banking and financial services.

Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship

Provided annually by the Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants, this award is made to a full-time student in the College of Business majoring in accounting who is a Wyoming resident.
