Free or Low-Cost Software

  • WyoWare  now Microsoft Office 365 – Student Advantage Program - Students can obtain Office Pro Plus from the student advantage program free here. This site also provides information about software available at discounted prices to UW students, faculty, staff and departments through the Division of Information Technology or other UW departments.

  • Microsoft Dev Tools for Teaching - A subscription-based offering for accredited schools and departments providing access to tools commonly used in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs. It provides professional developer and designer tools, software, and services from Microsoft to faculty and students.

  • AutoDesk - AutoDesk products are available to students for free by following directions on the linked web site.
  • Remote Lab System

  • MathCAD - The College does not have student licenses for students personal computers. Purchase from PTC.

  • Matlab - The College does not have student licenses for student's personal computers. Purchase from Mathworks.

  • Mathematica -  Free to students and faculty.

  • NI Labview Student Installation for personal computers.

  • Visual Analysis - Visual Analysis is available to students free by following directions on the linked web site


SolidWorks Information

  • SolidWorks Access is available to students to use and install the same functionality of the school network on their personal computers for use outside of school labs. This software is for classroom and degree nonfunded projects only.

         Instructions for installing SolidWorks for personally owned student computers.

 

  • Students can register at MySolidWorks.com to access 300-plus online tutorials with Learning Paths: CSWA / CSWP Exam Prep and Sample Exercises, SolidWorks CAM, and Additive Manufacturing. ($365 value per student).

         Instructions for creating a MySolidWorks account.

 

  • Students are eligible to sit for SolidWorks certification exams ($20 to $99 value per exam). Students with SolidWorks Certification have been proven to have an employment advantage.
