Doctor of Philosophy Programs:


  1. PhD in Chemical Engineering
  2. PhD in Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences (interdisciplinary program)

 

The mission of the graduate program in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering is to prepare students to be leaders in industry, government, or academia. The field of engineering is continuously evolving and alumni with the advanced education and research skills associated with obtaining graduate degrees have the flexibility, breadth, and depth to become leaders as the problems of tomorrow arise. 

All students in the PhD program will learn the research techniques that individuals working in national laboratories, industrial positions and academia.

A M.S. degree is not required to enter a Ph.D. program.

  • 42 credit hours of coursework, 30 credit hours of research (see curriculum)
  • Preliminary examination
  • Dissertation and defense
  • Publication of dissertation
