The University of Wyoming Criminal Justice program offers a bachelor of arts degree to students on the Laramie campus, at UW/Casper College Center in Casper, and at locations across the United States through the Outreach School.
All Criminal Justice majors are required to complete 120 semester hours of coursework that include 39 hours of criminal justice courses. Of these 39 hours, students must complete the required courses that provide the foundation for upper division core classes.
The 2015 required foundation courses (effective for new students enrolling in the Fall 2015 semester) are:
In addition to these foundation courses, students are required to complete two courses from each of the two core areas of Crime and Deviance and Criminal Justice Institutions and Processes. The core areas each include several courses from which the student may select.
Finally, all students are required to complete three hours of supporting courses. The course may be chosen from the above listed core areas or from an additional supporting course area.
** Upper division coursework that was completed more than ten years prior to graduation will not meet major requirements. All major courses need to be completed with a C or better to count toward major requirements.
